Born in the shadow of Bourbon St, Nola
Montez hails
from the seamy streets of her namesake town.
If there
is one thing New Orleans teaches its daughters, it's
the bump and grind. She was there in 2001 when Teaseorama
was just a twinkle in its creator's eye. A founding member
of the Sophistikittens she shook her shimmy to great
acclaim in towns across the South to the swank sounds
of the Sohpisticats, opening for acts like Andre Williams
and playing Teaseorama in San Franscisco.
She didn't pick up her pasties until later in life,
taking up residence in Austin's own longest running burlesque
troupe, Red Light Burlesque.
She has performed with stars
across the great state of Texas and quickly became known
for her spectacular costumes and authentic "oomph".
Always a favorite, she has the distinction of being
the only burlesque star to have peeled to the Soviet
anthem.
