For thirteen years Susan Wayward has been a clothing
relocation specialist in the lap dancing parlors of the
United States. She is a fan of all types of dance in
which the clothing removal is integral, from the exotic
dancers of the sideshow to the cooch dancers of the sixties
to the neo-burlesque performance artists of today.
Her introduction to burlesque performance came in 1997
while filiming a small role as a stripper in a B-movie.
She was requested to “do an old-school striptease” and
promptly hammed it up on a chair at the former Antenna
Club in Memphis.
In Austin, TX, she performed at several shows put on by
Burlesque for Peace, who coordinate benefit performances
as an excuse for getting a lot of people to get on stage
and do interesting things while wearing the bare minimum.
She has also competed in the more mainstream strippery
Miss Nude Oregon pageant in Portland, and performed at
the premiere of The Velvet Hammer Burlesque in Austin.
Currently Ms. Wayward lives in Portland, Oregon, but she
travels much of the year perfecting her pants-raising techniques
across the country.
